Farms and indians
The alpacas are often kept by Indians on small farms in the remoteness of the Andes Mountains. In the day-time the Indians allow the alpaca to roam freely around in the mountains but during the night they are kept in stables.
Alpacas and llamas have been very important domesticated animals for the Peruvians for thousand of years and were commonly used for transportation. The wool was also used for clothing, and in the end the meat for consumption. The income thus generated was highly significant for the Indian community.
